President Obama !

Barack Obama with his wife, Michelle, and Joseph R. Biden Jr. with his wife, Jill.

So after a two year long campaign, Barack Obama is finally declared the first Afro-American President of the USA. From a civil rights lawyer in Chicago to the oval office, Obama's journey is one that will give all people of Afro-American origin hope. Obama's victory lifted fears that white people will be hesitant to vote for a man of colour, once they are in the polling booth.

I think his victory shows that race is becoming a less dominant issue in the American society, and the world in general.
Here is a timeline of Obama's life from The New York Times. Its really worth a look..
