Jonjo Shelvey, the 17 year old Charlton Athletic midfielder turned down an offer to join Chelsea FC. His decision was based on the fact that given the abundance of talent Chelsea had in their possession, he would not feature in Carlo Ancelloti's first team plans. He is waiting for hos favourite club West Ham United to make an offer for him.
I feel happy that in these days of mercenary footballers, there are still players who refuse to let their heart go where the money will take them, and instead, look forward to being at a club that is close to their hearts, even if that would mean forgoing the big pay cheque, and the five star facilities that would have come with a move to Chelsea.
I hope great things happen to Jonjo Shelvey's career and he end up with West Ham United.
